My childhood friend, Stefanie Smith, has recently taken up photography. She asked me months ago if she could take some pictures of Adam and me to help grow her portfolio. As life goes, we had just not gotten around to it. I caught up with her one evening and we decided that the four of us (Stef, her husband, Adam and me) should get together the following Saturday for dinner. We talked a few days before dinner and she suggested that we go to, Garozzo’s in the West Bottoms. She asked if we would be willing to go a bit early and take some pictures in the area because of the interesting backdrops. Adam and I were happy to help her out!
Stef and I went shopping that day to look for a good outfit to wear, for the pictures, unbeknownst to me, I was picking out my engagement outfit. Stef, on the other hand, knew exactly what was going on! I later found out that Adam had contacted her 3 weeks before and they had planned all of this. We got down to the West Bottoms that evening and took a few pictures at different locations. There was a cool looking highway on ramp and Stef suggested we walk over and take some final pictures before dinner.
Adam and I were posed with our backs together for the first few shots and then Stef asked us to turn around and face each other. I was so focused on getting the poses right that I did not understand what Adam was doing on the ground holding a ring in front of me! I was completely caught off guard, which is exactly what he was hoping for! Once I got myself together and figured out what was happening I said YES! It was incredible! We decided to call and text family before dinner and waited until after we ate to announce the great news to our friends.
